Sara joined the Centre in 2025 as Manager, Operations and Programs. In this role, Sara ensures high-quality delivery of CHL’s projects, while driving strategic initiatives and managing professional staff.
Sara has more than 15 years of experience working across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific with organisations including the United Nations, the World Bank, and international NGOs. Her work has spanned emergency response, food and nutrition security, and gender equality, managing multimillion-dollar portfolios and leading partnerships with donors and governments.
Sara has played a key role in designing and managing programs that strengthen local capacities, advance inclusion, and promote accountability in humanitarian action. Before joining CHL, Sara worked with Plan International Australia’s Disaster Risk Management team, where she managed the organisation’s UN portfolio in addition to some AHP programs overseeing compliance with donor standards and accreditation requirements. Sara also served as the co-chair to the Anti-racism council of the Plan International Federation.
Sara is passionate about reimagining humanitarian leadership to be more inclusive, locally led, and grounded in care. She is based in Melbourne and remains active in community initiatives promoting justice, solidarity, and belonging.
