Mentoring workshop for Syrian-based humanitarians and crisis responders
In partnership with the H2H Network, the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership is offering experienced Syrian humanitarians the opportunity to join a three-day workshop to develop their skills as mentors for others in the industry.
About the course
Designed specifically with the humanitarian sector in mind, this practical program will enable participants to fully understand their role as a mentor. Participants will build self-awareness as well as their core mentoring skills, capabilities, and mindset to enable them to bring the most to their mentoring relationships as they support and engage with colleagues in this crisis context.

The program runs over three consecutive half days, from February 24-26, 2026.. Attendance on all three half-days is mandatory to receive a certificate of completion.
The session comprises the following areas of focus:
- The foundations of mentoring: introduction to mentoring and fellow mentors, the role of the mentor, core skills
- Starting for success: the mentoring process, building trust, coaching skills, do’s and dont’s
- The building blocks: giving feedback, managing the unexpected, closing the mentoring relationship

This workshop will be conducted online via Zoom, in English.
- Workshop 1 + IT briefing (5 hours) Tuesday, 24 February 2026, 4- 9 pm Eastern European Time (EET)
- Workshop 2 (4 h) Wednesday, 25 February 2026, 4-8 pm EET
- Workshop 3 (4h) Thursday, 26 February 2026, 4-8 pm EET
Eligibility
This workshop is offered for free to all Syrian-based humanitarians and crisis responders who have at least five years’ experience in the sector. It is conducted entirely in English, so you must have strong command of the English language to fully participate.
The workshop is offered on the understanding that participants commit to attend all three days of workshops in full, complete any pre-work, and are available to join the Centre’s mentor pool that will act as a resource in support of future humanitarian learning opportunities.

The workshop will be held on Zoom. A Zoom meeting invite and welcome email will be sent closer to the time of the workshop.
