The 2025 Humanitarian Leadership Conference, held in partnership with the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, took place from April 8-9, 2025 in Doha, Qatar.
On Day 2 of the HLC, discussions deepened around local leadership, shifting power, and the urgent need for more inclusive and accountable humanitarian systems.
Save the Children Australia CEO and CHL Executive Committee Chair Mat Tinkler gave an opening address which highlighted the importance of leadership and solidarity in the face of the unprecedented challenges currently confronting the humanitarian sector.
The keynote presentation by NEAR Executive Director Hibak Kalfan focused on the urgent need for a paradigm shift in humanitarian aid systems, emphasising solidarity, local leadership, and economic justice.
