Manny Maung is Manager, Influencing and Engagement at the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership. She brings more than 15 years of experience in human rights and humanitarian policy, research and advocacy, with a focus on localisation, civil society, and women-led responses to conflict and humanitarian emergencies.
Manny’s research-led advocacy has documented widespread human rights abuses in Myanmar, including war crimes and crimes against humanity, contributing to major policy shifts such as international sanctions. She has also worked alongside rights-based movements across Asia and the Pacific, building long-standing relationships with civil society actors throughout the region.
At CHL, Manny leads the Centre’s influencing and engagement work, including Beyond Reform, a multi-year initiative working with local and national actors to reshape how the humanitarian system operates, who leads it, and who it answers to.
