Home Whose analysis? Trial of a new participatory conflict analysis for Do No Harm/conflict-sensitive development planning

‘Do No Harm’ and ‘conflict-sensitivity’ have been mainstreamed into the planning and implementation of interventions in conflict-affected situations.

While participation is always prioritised, most conflict analysis relies on interviews and narrative accounts collected from local informants, to be analysed by technical experts.

This paper reflects upon the trial of a new, highly participatory conflict analysis approach, developed by the authors, seeking to transform conflict analysis practice to also include ordinary, local, non-elite people in the actual analysis process.

Whose analysis? Trial of a new participatory conflict analysis for Do No Harm/conflict-sensitive development planning was published in Conflict, Security and Development on 11 October, 2021.
